The best thing about getting an engineering degree from Stanford was meeting my wife, Bonnie, there (and getting married in 1964.) I went to work for IBM in San Francisco for a couple of years and then we moved south and spent two years at UCLA for an MBA. Since then we have lived in Orange County. Not 'The OC' hyped on TV, but a rural site we picked in '72 and subsequently built on and have called home for 33 years.

That gave us time to raise two wonderful kids along with the ducks and the dogs and the chickens. They have grown and left the building (the kids, ducks and chickens) leaving us with three dogs who dictate where and when we walk each day. Fortunately, both children live nearby and daughter Wendy has turned us into dedicated grandparents when she and Mike produced Sophia, age 2. Our son, Rich, is engaged to be married to Kristen - wonderful - but unfortunately, in June in Hawaii, making our appearance at the reunion doubtful.

I started a small publishing/training company in 1970 which transitioned through a high-tech phase and ended up a financial services company which got acquired….go figure. About eight years ago I decided to parlay my meager ability to scribble a 500 word paper (max since birth) into writing a novel, a fiction thriller. Readers seemed to like it so I wrote a second. Each triggered by current events, I have finished my sixth book and am getting ready for #7. (curious people could check Amazon, books, Dick Holt).

If we don't make it to NMH in June, I will miss seeing so many I haven't seen since '58, a lifetime ago. But, I fully expect to see you all at our 100th, if not at a few in between.
